In the 17th century, Haarlem was a powerful and prosperous city, not to mention, a centre of arts and culture. The painters of the Golden Age concentrated on everyday subjects: landscapes, genre scenes, portraits, still lifes, and city views.
We have gathered seventy-one tiny rooms from historical Dutch dolls’ houses. Together, they give us a glimpse of everyday life in the seventeenth and eighteenth century. Collect a booklet from the ticket desk and join our scavenger hunt! There are booklets for different ages. Have fun!
